Job Description

Introduction
Designed for a veterinarian who wants to stay clinically engaged without giving up flexibility outside of work, this full-service small animal hospital in Lincoln, California is looking to welcome a part-time Associate Veterinarian. Caring for dogs and cats, the practice combines a broad General Practice caseload with daytime Emergency and Urgent Care, all from a state-of-the-art facility. The hospital has been caring for pets across Lincoln and the Greater Sacramento area for more than 30 years, giving you the stability of an established community practice alongside a working pattern that can be shaped around your availability and goals.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to stay closely involved with your patients across preventive medicine, diagnostics, treatment planning, dentistry and surgery. You’ll have a consistent home hospital rather than moving between locations, allowing you to build genuine relationships with clients and maintain continuity with the patients you care for. There’s also the opportunity to manage daytime Urgent and Emergency presentations alongside the regular GP caseload, adding some extra clinical variety throughout the week. Flexibility is a big part of this particular opportunity, with the hospital open to discussing your availability and creating a predictable part-time schedule that works well for both you and the practice.

Practice Details
The hospital operates from a state-of-the-art facility and provides a full scope of GP services alongside daytime Emergency and Urgent Care, Internal Medicine and Dermatology, with comprehensive dentistry and surgical care also available. Equipment and clinical capabilities available include, but are not limited to, Digital Radiography, Digital Dental Radiography, Ultrasound and an In-House Laboratory with bloodwork and urinalysis capabilities, alongside an In-House Pharmacy, dedicated sterile surgical suite and electronic patient monitoring equipment. Surgical capabilities include Soft Tissue Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Dental Surgery and Emergency Surgery, giving the team plenty of scope to manage more involved cases within the hospital. The practice is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and is closed on Sundays.

Team
You’ll currently be joining an established 5-DVM team, working alongside Registered Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, kennel staff, reception and dedicated hospital management. There’s a good amount of experience around you and plenty of people to bounce ideas off when another perspective would be useful, while the wider support team helps veterinarians stay focused on their clinical responsibilities. The part-time nature of the role doesn’t mean being disconnected from the practice either; the emphasis on a consistent home hospital means you can properly become part of the team, get to know the clients and contribute to the hospital while still maintaining the balance you’re looking for outside of work.

Candidate Requirements
