Job Description

Introduction
An established veterinary hospital in Lexington, North Carolina is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join its experienced team. Serving the local community since 1980, the hospital provides comprehensive veterinary care within a collaborative General Practice environment. The position is primarily focused on small animal medicine, with the hospital also providing care for rabbits, pocket pets, reptiles, birds and small farm animals. The role provides clinical autonomy alongside structured onboarding, mentorship and opportunities for continued professional development.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities, including wellness and preventive care, diagnostic investigation, treatment planning, dentistry and surgery. The successful veterinarian will be responsible for delivering high-quality medical care, maintaining effective client communication and working collaboratively with the wider veterinary and support team. The hospital also provides Urgent and Emergency Care during normal operating hours, adding variety to the clinical caseload. Veterinarians are supported in making independent clinical decisions while having access to an established team for case discussion, mentorship and continued professional development.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of GP services, including preventive medicine, diagnostics, comprehensive Dentistry, Orthopedics, Laser Therpay, Surgery and ongoing medical care, alongside Urgent Care during normal operating hours. Equipment and clinical capabilities available include, but are not limited to, on-site diagnostic and Laboratory Testing capabilities, alongside dedicated surgical and dental facilities. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with the hospital closed on Sundays.

Team
The hospital has an established six-veterinarian team, including a Lead Veterinarian and five Associate Veterinarians, supported by an experienced management, client service and Veterinary Assistant team. The wider team supports the delivery of appointments, diagnostics, surgical procedures and ongoing patient care, allowing veterinarians to work collaboratively while maintaining responsibility for their individual cases. Structured onboarding, mentorship, leadership development and career advancement opportunities are available to support continued professional development.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
