Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing veterinary care for dogs, cats, and exotic animals in Lewisburg, West Virginia, and is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join the team. The practice is open to both full-time and part-time applicants and is a well-established hospital that has served the local community for decades, delivering high-quality, compassionate veterinary medicine while building lasting relationships with pets and their families.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive veterinary care, including physical examinations, preventive and wellness medicine, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and urgent care. Responsibilities include developing diagnostic and treatment plans, performing routine surgical procedures, assisting with more complex cases where appropriate, interpreting laboratory results and diagnostic imaging, and providing nutritional and preventive care advice. The role also involves maintaining accurate medical records, communicating treatment options clearly with clients, collaborating with the wider veterinary team, and participating in continuing education and professional development. Both experienced veterinarians and new graduates will be considered.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a diverse range of veterinary services, including wellness and preventive care, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, in-house diagnostics, urgent care, senior pet care, laser therapy, exotic animal medicine, nutritional counselling, vaccinations, parasite prevention, microchipping, boarding, and bathing and trimming services. The hospital is open Monday and Thursday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday and Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the hospital closed on Sundays.

Experienced veterinarians work alongside colleagues to share clinical knowledge, while new graduates can benefit from mentorship and professional development opportunities.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
