Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a privately owned hospital that is hiring an Associate Veterinarian on either a full-time or part-time basis. Caring primarily for cats and dogs, the hospital also receives calls for exotic pets and would be open to expanding these services with an exotics-experienced DVM.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role involves the full scope of general practice responsibilities, providing comprehensive care including wellness and preventative care, internal medicine, soft-tissue surgery, and dentistry. There are no weekend requirements, and the practice offers a very flexible schedule with both full-time and part-time options available. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, provided they are dedicated to practicing high-quality medicine. The owner enjoys teaching and mentoring, making this an excellent opportunity for veterinarians looking to develop their skills.
Practice Details
The hospital features four exam rooms and is equipped with digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, ultrasound, two dental units, an underwater treadmill, cold laser, rigid and flexible endoscopes, in-house laboratories, PRP injections, Avimark electronic medical records, and Talkatoo. The practice employs FearFree tactics whenever possible and offers a full scope of general practice services, including wellness, preventative care, internal medicine, soft-tissue surgery, and dentistry. Orthopedic procedures are performed in-house by a traveling surgeon, rehabilitation services are available, and the practice would love to add acupuncture in the future. Standard appointment times are 30 minutes. The hospital is open Monday from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm, Tuesday from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, Wednesday from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm, Thursday from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, and Friday from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Appointments run from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, with the practice closed from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm each day for lunch and notes.
Team
The team consists of one DVM supported by three full-time technicians, two assistants, and additional support staff. The staff are highly skilled and work to the fullest extent of their abilities.
