Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing veterinary care for dogs and cats in Knoxville, Tennessee, and is seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian to join the team on a part-time basis. The hospital is a long-established, high-volume practice with a strong reputation for delivering compassionate, efficient veterinary care while maintaining a focus on quality medicine and client service.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care, including preventive medicine, vaccinations, diagnosing and managing medical conditions, routine surgical procedures, dentistry, and geriatric care. Responsibilities include conducting thorough physical examinations, developing individualized diagnostic and treatment plans, performing spay and neuter procedures, managing dental disease, and monitoring patients throughout treatment. The role also involves providing client education on preventive care, heartworm prevention, dental health, and senior pet management, while building trusted client relationships within a busy clinical environment. This position is specifically for an experienced veterinarian.

Practice Details
The hospital offers a comprehensive range of veterinary services, including preventive medicine, medical care, surgery, dentistry, and geriatric care. Diagnostic capabilities include an in-house laboratory, digital radiography, and ultrasound, with access to external specialty laboratories and local referral centers for CT, MRI, and advanced surgical procedures. The hospital uses modern anesthetic protocols, pain management techniques, and patient monitoring equipment to support safe surgical and dental procedures. Hospitalized patients receive ongoing care and supervision from veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the hospital closed on Sundays.

Team
The hospital has five DVMs, consisting of three full-time and two part-time veterinarians, alongside a great tenured support team. The environment is upbeat, collaborative, and team-focused, with experienced veterinary professionals and licensed technicians working together to deliver high-quality patient care and maintain strong client relationships.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
