Our client is a 24-hour hybrid hospital seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join their collaborative and compassionate team. The hospital is known for balancing high-quality medicine with a healthy work-life balance, creating an environment where doctors are frequently praised for being both highly skilled and enjoyable to work alongside. Located in Knightdale, NC, the hospital offers a broad range of services and has recently expanded its facilities and diagnostic capabilities to better support both patients and referring veterinarians.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will be responsible for managing a wide range of emergency cases within a fast-paced 24-hour hospital environment. Clinical responsibilities include triaging and treating emergency patients, performing emergency surgeries, and managing cases requiring intensive and ongoing critical care support. All ER doctors within the group cut their own cases, allowing for a strong level of surgical involvement and autonomy while still providing mentorship and support for doctors who may not have had extensive surgical exposure in previous roles. The role offers the opportunity to work closely alongside specialists and experienced clinicians across multiple disciplines, supporting collaborative case management and high-quality patient care. Overnight ER doctors are typically scheduled around 10 shifts per 28 days, helping to support a healthy work-life balance. This opportunity is specifically suited to experienced ER doctors.

Practice Details
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays, providing continuous emergency and critical care services. As a hybrid hospital, the practice offers primary care, emergency medicine, surgery, internal medicine, oncology, advanced imaging including ultrasound and 64-slice CT, and cardiology services through its partnership with CVCA. The hospital has recently doubled its facility space and added dedicated special procedures and chemotherapy rooms while also expanding its diagnostic capabilities. The practice is equipped with cutting-edge medical technology to help diagnose and treat a broad range of cases. Emergency and critical care services are further supported by a fully equipped Intensive Care Unit featuring 64 feet of cages, 13 runs, a Snyder ICU cage with oxygen and temperature controls, continuous ECG monitoring, transfusion supplies, and a large isolation ward for infectious disease patients. The hospital also provides emergency surgeries, routine care, and dentistry services, supported by advanced facilities and a strong collaborative culture focused on delivering exceptional patient care.

Team
The hospital currently has 17 in-house veterinarians working alongside a stable and experienced team of credentialed technicians and assistants. The collaborative environment supports shared knowledge, teamwork, and high-quality ICU and emergency care, creating a positive and supportive atmosphere for both doctors and support staff.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
