Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing full-service veterinary care for companion animals and is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their growing practice in Knightdale, North Carolina. The clinic focuses on delivering compassionate, high-quality care for cats and dogs within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:30pm, Saturday from 8:00am to 12:00pm, and is closed on Sunday. This is a part-time position offering flexible scheduling with predictable hours and a consistent home hospital assignment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for conducting comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups, performing diagnostic procedures and surgery, and providing client communication and education. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate medical records, prescribing medications, supporting hospital protocols, monitoring cases, attending daily rounds when possible, and collaborating with the Hospital Manager on operational priorities. The role is suited to an experienced veterinarian who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering high standards of patient care.

Practice Details
This is a full-service cat and dog hospital offering a wide range of services including wellness exams, vaccinations, internal medicine, emergency care, dental care, cold laser therapy, and surgical procedures. The hospital is equipped with digital radiography, electrocardiogram capabilities, an in-house diagnostic laboratory, on-site pharmacy, and cold laser therapy. Surgical services include soft tissue surgery, spaying and neutering, dental surgery, mass removals, foreign body procedures, wound care, and aural hematoma treatment, all supported by rigorous surgical and monitoring protocols. The practice emphasizes accurate diagnostics, compassionate care, and a welcoming, team-oriented culture.

Team
The team consists of 3 DVMs supported by a great tenured support staff, creating a stable and collaborative working environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
