Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their team. The hospital provides care for cats and dogs and is dedicated to offering high-quality veterinary medicine within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am to 12:00pm, with Sundays closed. Doctor hours are open to discussion, and the role can be either full-time or part-time depending on the candidate’s preference.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This is a full-service general practice role. The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical and surgical care. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.

Practice Details
The hospital is a full-service general practice offering the best in medical and surgical care. The surgery suite was recently upgraded and includes a heated v-tray hydraulic table, two surgical lights, kennels for surgical patients, and a separate wet table for dentistry. The hospital has a large dentistry caseload, and candidates interested in dentistry would have their own designated surgery/dentistry days. All patients undergoing anesthesia are required to have pre-operative lab work, IV catheter, and IV fluids. For orthopedic and advanced soft tissue surgeries, the hospital utilizes a mobile surgeon or refers cases to nearby specialty centers. The hospital is fully equipped with an in-house laboratory, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, and ultrasound. Additionally, a traveling radiology technician visits weekly to perform abdominal ultrasounds and echocardiograms.

Team
The hospital currently has six DVMs. They are supported by a phenomenal, well-educated, and experienced team with a 3:1 technician-to-doctor ratio. The hospital has low turnover, with some team members having been with the practice for over 20 years. The practice culture is positive, family-oriented, and nurturing, with a strong emphasis on maintaining a supportive and collaborative environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
