Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a privately owned hospital hiring for an Associate Veterinarian. They are a small animal practice seeing cats and dogs, with openness to adding exotics if the incoming doctor has experience.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm and is closed on weekends. The team closes for lunch daily from 1pm to 2pm, and doctors are generally out the door by 5:30pm at the latest. Doctor hours are flexible and open to discussion. The role can range from 1 to 5 days per week, with a standard full-time schedule being 4 days per week.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The position involves a full scope of general practice veterinarian responsibilities. The hospital is highly flexible and can accommodate doctors with specific interests or preferences, including those who prefer not to perform surgery. The role is open to new graduates and above, with mentorship available in all aspects of veterinary medicine, including orthopedics if desired.

Practice Details
This is a very well-equipped hospital featuring IDEXX in-house laboratories, digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, and ultrasound. The facility includes 4 exam rooms. The practice offers a full scope of general practice services, including orthopedics, and is open to expanding services for experienced doctors.

Team
The team consists of 4 DVMs supported by a strong group of staff. The environment is supportive, with a number of team members being Fear Free certified.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
