Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital in North Jacksonville that is seeking an experienced Lead Veterinarian to join their team. This clinic is committed to delivering high-quality veterinary care while creating a supportive and positive environment for its staff, with a strong focus on maintaining work-life balance.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. This is a full-time position.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role requires an experienced veterinarian who will practice in accordance with evidence-based medicine and the highest professional standards of care. Responsibilities include contributing to the ongoing development of best practice guidelines, fostering preventive healthcare through client partnerships and wellness plans, and providing education to both the paraprofessional team and clients. The veterinarian will also be expected to promote an inclusive and collaborative culture, exemplifying the values of passion, innovation, and community.
Practice Details
The hospital offers a wide range of services, including physical and virtual exams, diagnostic testing such as intestinal parasite exams, heartworm tests, leukemia and FIV tests, bloodwork, urinalysis, ear cytology, and skin cytology. Surgical services include amputations, biopsies, cystotomies, dental cleanings, deworming, enucleations, exploratory laparotomies, general soft tissue surgeries, and intestinal resections with anastomosis. Preventative services include microchipping, heartworm and parasite prevention, and a comprehensive vaccination program for both dogs and cats. The culture is one that prioritizes collaboration and preventive healthcare, supported by structured wellness plans.

Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
