Introduction
Our client is a small animal general practice in Northern California seeking a full or part-time Associate Veterinarian to join their 2-DVM team. They have served their loyal clientele since 1990 and maintain many long-standing relationships within the community, including strong ties with local animal rescues. They offer a wide range of services including soft tissue surgery, digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory capabilities. They are located an hour from multiple referral facilities in the Sacramento area and work with nearby specialists when needed, while also managing complex medical and surgical cases in-house when clients prefer this approach. The role is open to both experienced doctors and new graduates, and shelter medicine, HQHVSN, or exotic/wildlife experience is a plus. The practice encourages doctors to pursue their clinical interests.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The practice is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. There are no weekend or on-call requirements. The position is available as full time.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will deliver personalized care across wellness, medical, and surgical services. The role includes interpreting diagnostics and developing treatment plans, engaging with complex cases that are not always referred out, and working closely with experienced RVTs and support staff. Clinical responsibilities span preventative care, puppy and kitten wellness plans, general surgery, spays and neuters, x-rays, ultrasound, dental services, and acupuncture. The position is suitable for both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.

Practice Details
The practice offers in-house digital radiography, dental x-ray, ultrasound, and full laboratory capabilities. They provide preventative care, puppy and kitten wellness plans, general surgery, spays and neuters, x-rays, ultrasound, dental services, acupuncture, wellness and vaccination programs, medical services for diagnosing and treating health conditions, pet surgery including spay and neuter, pet dental cleanings and treatment, veterinary acupuncture, and additional small animal veterinary services. The practice is well-established and has served Jackson, California since 1990, maintaining strong relationships with local rescues and the surrounding community. The caseload includes wellness, medical, surgical, and more complex cases that may not be referred out depending on client needs.

Team
The hospital has 2 DVMs. The growing and enthusiastic team of assistants and RVTs support associates in all areas of patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
