Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a privately owned small animal hospital seeking a DVM to join their friendly and dedicated team. The practice provides high-quality, comprehensive care for cats and dogs, with a strong emphasis on preventative medicine, wellness, and supporting pets through every stage of life.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. The practice is not open every Saturday (availability varies), and is closed on Sundays. The team offers flexibility with scheduling and operates on a rotating weekend basis.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role involves providing comprehensive medical care for cats and dogs, with a strong focus on preventative and wellness medicine. The veterinarians are passionate about early detection of illness and encouraging at least annual wellness exams to ensure longer, healthier lives for their patients.
Wellness appointments provide the opportunity to discuss nutrition and diet, dental care, behavior and training, age-related changes, and any other health concerns. Appointment times are typically 20 minutes, with extended time allocated for new or sick patients to ensure thorough care.
Practice Details
This well-equipped hospital offers modern diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including in-house ultrasound and echocardiology. All ultrasound and echo studies are reviewed by board-certified radiologists and cardiologists. The practice also features digital X-rays, in-house laboratory services, and two exam rooms.
The hospital is Cat Friendly and Fear Free focused, creating a low-stress environment for patients. With a strong commitment to high standards of medicine and client communication, the team prioritizes compassionate, thorough, and preventative care.
Team
The team consists of 2 DVMs, 2–3 assistants, and 2 LVTs, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment. The culture encourages teamwork, flexibility, and delivering high-quality veterinary medicine in a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
