Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a feline-only veterinary practice in Iowa City, Iowa, seeking an experienced full-time veterinarian. The clinic treats only cats, providing specialized, low-stress care in a cat-exclusive environment, and is privately owned.
Working Hours / Rota
The position is full-time with a schedule designed to support excellent work-life balance. The practice is open from 7:30am – 5:30pm Monday to Friday, it is closed on weekends.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The veterinarian will provide comprehensive feline care including wellness exams, dentistry, oral surgery, general surgery, laser therapy, diagnostics, grooming, and microchipping. The role requires managing both routine and complex cases independently while collaborating with the existing team. This position is geared toward an experienced veterinarian with at least two years of clinical experience.
Practice Details
The clinic features an on-site medical laboratory, digital radiography, and comprehensive ultrasound capabilities. It offers surgical procedures including spay/neuter, tumor removal, bladder stone removal, and dental surgery. The environment is calm and low-stress, focusing on feline-focused care, and the team supports continuing education and professional development.
Team
The hospital has two DVMs and a dedicated support staff. The culture is tight-knit and collaborative, with a shared passion for providing specialized care for cats in a supportive and feline-focused environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
