Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a privately owned small animal hospital hiring for a full-time or part-time Veterinarian. The clinic treats dogs and cats, with occasional cases involving small mammals such as hamsters, gerbils, and rabbits.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with an hour-long paid lunch break when the clinic closes between 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM. The hospital does not typically operate on weekends, though occasional Saturday vaccine appointments (2 to 4 per month) are available for veterinarians interested in additional hours. The incoming doctor will work independently on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays and will be supported by an experienced team on other days. The position is full-time, though part-time arrangements will also be considered.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinarian will manage a varied caseload, with a strong emphasis on surgery and dentistry. Responsibilities include consultations, wellness care, surgeries, dental procedures, diagnostics, and overseeing treatment plans. Comfort with extractions and surgical procedures is preferred. Experience in wellness-focused medicine is also welcome. The role is well-suited to veterinarians with four to five years of experience, although candidates with less experience will be considered. The hospital’s workflow combines scheduled appointments with walk-in visits, with consultations typically every 15 minutes.

Practice Details
The facility is equipped with four exam rooms, ultrasound, a laser for post-surgical healing, digital dental and general radiography, and an in-house laboratory. The practice performs a high volume of dental procedures under anesthesia and surgical procedures, with a dedicated surgeon on-site on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The clinic fosters a family-oriented, supportive environment that values collaboration and flexibility, ensuring veterinarians have the resources and autonomy to practice effectively.

Team
The team includes several experienced technicians and support staff, with at least four to five assisting in the back during heavy surgical days, and two to three staff members managing triage and front-desk operations. The environment is collaborative and adaptable, with a focus on respect for each veterinarian’s preferred working style, team well-being, and high standards of patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
