Introduction
A full-service veterinary hospital in Imlay City, Michigan is seeking an Associate Veterinarian on a full or part-time basis, to join its established team. The practice provides comprehensive small-animal veterinary care, combining General Practice medicine with advanced diagnostics, surgery and additional medical services. The position provides the opportunity to manage a varied medical and surgical caseload within an established two-veterinarian environment, with broad in-house capabilities, access to internal specialty consultation and continued professional development.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities, including wellness and preventive care, diagnostic investigation, treatment planning, dentistry, surgery and ongoing medical management. The successful veterinarian will maintain responsibility for their own cases, developing appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans and communicating clinical findings and recommendations effectively with clients. The position also provides access to mentorship, continued education and structured professional development, supporting veterinarians looking to strengthen their clinical capabilities, pursue specialist interests or progress towards future leadership opportunities.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of GP services, alongside Exotic Medicine, Dermatology, Senior Care, Pain Management, Dentistry and advanced Soft Tissue Surgery. Diagnostic capabilities include Digital Radiography, Ultrasound, ECG, Tonometry and comprehensive Blood and Laboratory Testing, providing extensive in-house support for medical investigation and treatment planning. The hospital performs routine through advanced surgical procedures using modern anesthetic agents and advanced anesthetic monitoring equipment, with Dental Surgery and more involved Soft Tissue Surgery also performed in-house. Additional clinical services include health certificates and OFA hip and elbow evaluation and certification. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM and is closed on Sundays.

Team
The hospital currently has an established two-veterinarian team, supported by a wider paraprofessional and client service team. The clinical environment emphasizes collaboration, with veterinarians having access to internal specialty consultation and additional clinical resources when managing more complex cases. Continued education and professional development are actively supported, with structured opportunities for team members to develop additional credentials, pursue individual clinical interests and progress into leadership roles.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
