Introduction
A well-established veterinary hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii is looking to hire an Associate Veterinarian. Providing care for dogs, cats and other pets, the hospital has a strong General Practice offering and combines a personal, community-focused approach with access to modern diagnostics and a broad range of clinical services. The team puts a lot of value on getting to know its patients and clients properly, creating an environment where veterinarians can build lasting relationships while still having the resources needed to practice high-quality medicine.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to take ownership of a varied caseload across general medicine, diagnostics, surgery and dentistry. You’ll be able to stay closely involved with your patients throughout their care, using your own clinical judgement when working through diagnostics and treatment plans while having an experienced wider team around you when another perspective would be useful. There’s also access to a much broader veterinary and specialist network for those more involved cases, giving you additional clinical support without taking away from the independence of managing your own caseload. As the original advert is no longer live, I haven’t stated whether this particular opportunity is specifically suited to experienced veterinarians or also open to new graduates.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of GP services, with additional capabilities including Advanced Dental Care and Dermatology. Equipment and clinical facilities available include, but are not limited to, Digital Radiography, Dental Radiography, an In-House Laboratory, an In-House Pharmacy, an In-Office Surgical Suite and an Isolation Ward, giving the team a good range of resources for investigating and managing cases within the hospital. The practice is currently open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Friday through Sunday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the Friday through Sunday schedule currently listed as temporary.

Team
You’ll be joining an established team of veterinarians alongside Credentialed Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, technician leadership, client service professionals and hospital management. There’s a good emphasis on people working together and making use of the experience around them, while still giving veterinarians the freedom to take ownership of their individual cases. The hospital also benefits from access to a much wider network of veterinarians and specialists, so there’s plenty of opportunity to bounce ideas around, seek another opinion on a more challenging case and continue learning from the people around you.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
