Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a well-established small animal hospital that has been serving the Lowcountry and surrounding areas since 1968. They are seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join their dedicated team. This is a hospital with a strong reputation for compassionate care, where doctors are encouraged to practice high-quality medicine while also enjoying the unique lifestyle offered by Hilton Head Island.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm, and is closed on weekends. This is a full-time position that allows for an excellent work-life balance with no weekend commitments.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide a wide range of clinical services, including preventative care, wellness, diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry. Doctors will also have the opportunity to practice integrative medicine such as acupuncture, chiropractic care, Tui-Na, and cold laser therapy. Responsibilities include mentoring the veterinary team, developing and implementing medical protocols, interpreting laboratory results, and educating clients to build strong, lasting relationships. This position is open to both new graduates and experienced veterinarians, with a supportive environment that encourages growth and development.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with modern diagnostic tools and technology, including radiology and a fully equipped laboratory. Services include preventative health, vaccinations, surgery, dentistry, allergy management, senior pet care, and integrative therapies. A new exam room is currently being added to expand capacity and improve patient flow, giving incoming doctors the chance to help shape the clinic’s future. The culture is supportive and collaborative, with leadership focused on both professional development and work-life balance.

Team
The team is made up of three experienced doctors, supported by a skilled and compassionate support staff. With strong collaboration and a focus on mentorship, this is an environment where doctors can thrive both personally and professionally.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
