Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Veterinary Avian & Exotics Specialist on either a full-time or part-time basis. The hospital provides advanced emergency and specialty care for cats, dogs, avian species, and exotic animals and is looking for a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Avian & Exotics Specialist to join its collaborative multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity to build and grow an exotics service within a 24/7 specialty environment supported by experienced clinicians and advanced facilities.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Avian & Exotics Specialist will provide advanced medical and surgical care for avian and exotic animal patients while collaborating closely with specialists across multiple disciplines to deliver comprehensive patient care. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating a diverse range of avian and exotic species, developing individualised treatment plans, performing advanced diagnostic and surgical procedures, and providing exceptional communication with clients and referring veterinarians. Clinical responsibilities include internal medicine, surgery, wellness care and vaccinations, trauma-related treatment, fracture repair, nutrition counselling, dental care, and advanced diagnostic procedures. This opportunity is suited to board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Avian & Exotics Specialists.

Practice Details
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and provides emergency and multispecialty care within a collaborative clinical environment. Facilities include CT, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, and comprehensive surgical capabilities supported by 24-hour nursing care. Services include internal medicine, surgery, trauma management, fracture repair, dental care, nutrition counselling, wellness care and vaccinations, and advanced diagnostic imaging for avian and exotic patients. The hospital is committed to delivering high-quality specialty care while supporting the continued growth of its exotics service.

Team
You will join a collaborative team of 20 DVMs supported by a great tenured support team. The multidisciplinary environment includes experienced specialists, well-trained technicians, medical leaders, and dedicated support staff who work together to deliver exceptional patient care while fostering collaboration, professional development, and clinical excellence.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
