Introduction
Our client is a privately owned hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their team on either a full-time or part-time basis. The hospital primarily sees dogs and cats and would be open to expanding into exotics for a confident doctor due to significant demand in the local area. This opportunity would suit a veterinarian looking to practice high-quality general medicine within a proudly independent environment, with flexibility around scheduling and the potential to help shape future service offerings.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for the full scope of general practice responsibilities, managing a varied caseload across preventative care, wellness medicine, diagnostics, and treatment. Appointment scheduling is designed to support quality patient care, with 15-minute vaccine appointments, 30-minute standard sick appointments, and 45-minute consultations for multiple pets or particularly unwell patients. Full-time doctors typically work four days per week, with part-time arrangements open for discussion. There is also an opportunity for a schedule with no weekend commitments. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with a cold laser, IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment, digital radiography, dental equipment, and cautery. Facilities include two exam rooms, a dedicated surgical and dental suite, a general waiting area, and substantial downstairs storage space capable of accommodating large volumes of prescription diets. The practice currently operates Monday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, Tuesday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Wednesday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with the clinic closed on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The team would welcome support in opening the clinic on Fridays and potentially for a half day on Saturdays, although they remain highly flexible and open to discussion. The hospital provides a full scope of GP services, including wellness care, preventative medicine, internal medicine, soft-tissue surgery, and dentistry. There is also enthusiasm for expanding services in the future, particularly in areas such as acupuncture or herbal medicine.

Team
The veterinary team consists of one owner veterinarian and one part-time veterinarian. Support staff are maintained at a 2:1 ratio at all times, with technicians being heavily utilised throughout the practice. The structure allows for strong clinical support and collaboration within the hospital.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
