Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing comprehensive veterinary care for dogs and cats and is seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian to join the team on a part-time basis. The hospital focuses on delivering high-quality, full-service veterinary medicine, with an emphasis on preventive healthcare, patient wellbeing, and building lasting relationships with pet owners. The position offers an opportunity to practice veterinary medicine within an established veterinary healthcare network that prioritizes clinical standards, professional development, and a positive working environment.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for providing comprehensive veterinary care, including physical examinations, preventive medicine, diagnostic investigations, medical treatments, surgery, and dentistry. Clinical responsibilities include diagnosing and managing illnesses and injuries, developing detailed diagnostic and treatment plans, interpreting laboratory and imaging results, and maintaining accurate medical records. Surgical duties include performing routine and more complex procedures such as spaying and neutering, abdominal exploratory surgery, and mass removal. Dental responsibilities include comprehensive oral examinations, interpreting dental radiographs, performing simple and complex extractions, and carrying out oral surgical procedures. The role also involves managing patients requiring day hospitalization, coordinating transfers to overnight or referral care when necessary, and communicating treatment recommendations clearly with clients. The hospital is specifically seeking an experienced veterinarian who can deliver high standards of clinical care while contributing to effective teamwork and positive patient outcomes.
Practice Details
The hospital provides full-service veterinary care, including routine wellness examinations, vaccinations, microchipping, illness and injury management, diagnostic imaging, and flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Clinical facilities are equipped with ultrasound, digital diagnostic radiography, and heated hydraulic surgical tables to support medical and surgical procedures. The hospital also offers comprehensive dentistry, including dental radiography and oral surgery, alongside preventive healthcare and prescription services. As part of a wider veterinary healthcare network, the hospital benefits from medical leadership support and resources designed to maintain high clinical standards. Opening hours are Monday through Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the hospital closed on Thursdays and Sundays.
Team
The hospital operates within a collaborative environment supported by veterinary medical field leaders and a dedicated paraprofessional team. Support staff are encouraged to develop their clinical knowledge and expand their expertise in areas such as dentistry and nutrition, contributing to a well-rounded approach to patient care.
