Introduction
Our client is a progressive, full-service small animal hospital in Groton, Connecticut, seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join their outstanding team. Established in 1982 and AAHA-accredited for over 30 years, the hospital is known for its strong focus on avian and exotic pet care alongside comprehensive services for dogs and cats. With a dedicated exotic ward, specialized housing, and a compassionate approach to individualized medicine, the team is committed to delivering gold-standard veterinary care in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position with flexible scheduling, no on-call hours, and hospital hours from Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturday 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The hospital is closed on Sundays.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide high-quality medical, surgical, and preventive care to a diverse patient base, including dogs, cats, and exotic species. Clinical duties include wellness exams, vaccinations, internal medicine, dermatology, geriatric care, nutritional consulting, emergency care during business hours, and a variety of surgical procedures such as soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery, dental surgery, spaying, neutering, C-sections, and more. This position is open to experienced veterinarians who are passionate about delivering exceptional, individualized patient care.

Practice Details
The recently renovated hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment technology, including digital radiology with IDEXX Radiology Consults, digital dental X-rays, ultrasound, ECG/EKG, low-light laser therapy, advanced dental equipment, in-house IDEXX lab, and daily reference lab pickups. The facility features a dedicated exotic ward with specialized housing such as incubators and oxygen cages, a live-in technician for evening and weekend treatments, and Cornerstone software. Services cover wellness care, internal medicine, dentistry, dermatology, surgery, geriatric care, and nutritional consulting, all provided in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
