Job Description
Introduction
A well-established equine hospital in Gresham, Oregon is seeking a compassionate and motivated Associate Equine Veterinarian to join its team of three dedicated and three consulting doctors. With more than 40 years of service to the Pacific Northwest, the practice is known for providing high-quality, full-spectrum equine care in both ambulatory and inpatient settings.
Working Hours / Rota
The position offers a four-day workweek with an equally shared emergency rotation, ensuring a balance between professional responsibilities and personal life.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Equine Veterinarian will provide comprehensive medical and dental care to a diverse equine clientele. Responsibilities include performing ambulatory and in-clinic examinations, diagnostics, and treatments, as well as advanced dentistry and participation in surgical cases with a visiting board-certified surgeon. Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a dedication to excellent client service are essential.
Practice Details
The hospital features a full-service facility with three treatment areas, a surgery suite, nine stalls, and an indoor arena. Diagnostic and treatment resources include digital radiography, ultrasound, shockwave therapy, power dental floats, and an in-house laboratory. Approximately 60% of the caseload is ambulatory and 40% in-clinic, offering variety and opportunities to practice a wide range of equine medicine. Continuing education and professional growth are strongly encouraged, with an emphasis on maintaining a supportive and communicative clinic culture.
Team
The current veterinary team consists of three primary doctors supported by three consulting veterinarians. They are assisted by skilled staff who share a commitment to delivering compassionate and exceptional equine care in a collaborative environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
