Our client is a small but growing general practice hospital in lower Fairfield County, Connecticut, hiring an experienced Associate Veterinarian to join a collaborative team with a strong focus on gold-standard medicine. Located in an affluent community with easy access to New York City, this hospital combines personalized care with a clear vision for thoughtful growth and clinical excellence.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Tuesday through Thursday from 8:00am to 6:00pm, and Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will manage a varied general practice caseload that includes wellness and preventive care, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, orthopedic cases, and house calls for patients more comfortable being treated at home. Clinical responsibilities include conducting examinations, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, performing surgical and dental procedures, utilizing in-house diagnostics and imaging, and providing clear, compassionate client communication. This role is suited to an experienced veterinarian who values medical autonomy, high-touch patient care, and working closely with a dedicated support team.

Practice Details
This is a full-service general practice founded in 1998 with a strong reputation for compassionate, high-quality care. The hospital is USDA-certified and equipped with digital radiography, in-house and mobile ultrasound, in-house laboratory diagnostics, a fully equipped surgical suite, and a dedicated dental suite. Services include wellness exams, vaccinations, diagnostics and imaging, dentistry, spay and neuter procedures, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, boarding, grooming, and house call services. The practice culture is collaborative, teaching-focused, and low-drama, with an emphasis on medical excellence, strong leadership support, and long-term client relationships.

Team
The hospital is currently supported by one DVM and a great support team, maintaining an approximate 2:1 support staff to doctor ratio. The environment is hands-on and team-oriented, with skilled technicians, dedicated client service representatives, and engaged leadership working together to support both patient care and professional growth.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
