Job Description

Introduction
An established, companion animal veterinary hospital in Greenville, South Carolina is seeking a full or part-time Associate Veterinarian to join its clinical team. Founded in the early 1970s, the hospital has a longstanding presence within the local community, providing comprehensive veterinary services for dogs and cats with a particular emphasis on Dentistry, Surgery and Preventive Medicine. The practice offers a varied General Practice caseload, including opportunities to undertake more advanced dental and surgical procedures within a recently renovated clinical environment. The position offers clinical autonomy alongside experienced veterinary colleagues, with an emphasis on collaborative case management, high medical standards and maintaining strong client relationships. The hospital also works closely with local animal rescue organisations and provides a supportive, family-oriented working environment. Both experienced veterinarians and recent graduates are encouraged to apply, with professional development opportunities, flexible scheduling and a weekday-only working pattern available.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will undertake the full scope of GP responsibilities, managing a varied canine and feline caseload encompassing Preventive Medicine, Internal Medicine, Dentistry, Surgery and ongoing medical management. The position offers opportunities to perform routine and more advanced Soft Tissue and Dental procedures, with scope to develop individual clinical interests and surgical capabilities. The successful veterinarian will exercise independent clinical judgement while collaborating with experienced colleagues on diagnostic investigation, treatment planning and more complex medical cases. The hospital maintains established relationships with local referral facilities and visiting specialists, providing additional support for advanced investigations and procedures. Recent graduates will have opportunities to develop their clinical confidence through collaboration with experienced veterinarians, while established practitioners will benefit from clinical autonomy and the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of the hospital’s services. The role is structured around a weekday schedule, with no weekend or after-hours emergency responsibilities.

Practice Details
The hospital provides comprehensive General Practice services for dogs and cats, including Preventive Medicine, Internal Medicine, Dentistry, Soft Tissue Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Dermatology, Cardiology, Behavioural Medicine, vaccinations, parasite management and end-of-life care. The practice has a particular interest in Veterinary Dentistry, providing routine dental procedures, surgical dentistry and Full-Mouth Dental Radiography as part of its dental cleaning protocols. Surgical capabilities encompass routine spaying and neutering alongside more advanced Soft Tissue procedures, with additional specialist support available through visiting veterinary professionals. The recently renovated facility includes six examination rooms, a dedicated surgical suite, a separate dental suite, an expanded treatment area and private facilities for veterinary staff. Diagnostic equipment includes Digital Radiography, Digital Dental Radiography, Ultrasound and an In-House Laboratory equipped with haematology, biochemistry and urinalysis analysers. Additional clinical equipment includes a High-Speed Dental Drill, Intravenous Fluid Pumps and Syringe Pumps, supported by a computerised cloud-based practice management system. Visiting specialist services include Internal Medicine consultations, Ultrasound and Endoscopy, with additional surgical expertise available through a mobile specialist. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and major public holidays.

Team
The hospital operates as an established three-veterinarian practice, supported by a Licensed Veterinary Technician, veterinary assistants and administrative personnel. The veterinary team brings a combined 33 years of clinical experience, with particular interests in Dentistry, Surgery and Preventive Medicine. The incoming Associate Veterinarian will join a collaborative, independently managed hospital with opportunities for shared case discussions, professional development and independent clinical practice.
