Job Description

This privately owned small animal hospital has been AAHA accredited for a number of years. They are open 7:30am-7pm Monday to Thursday, 7:30am-6pm on Fridays, and 8am-4pm on Saturdays, meaning there are a number of scheduling options available, including part-time. Typically, a full time doctor would work 4 weekdays (only one 7pm finish every 2 weeks), and 1 Saturday every 4 weeks. The hospital currently employs 12 doctors, and they have an outstanding support staff ratio at a minimum of 4:1 to each doctor. With such a large team, they are able to mentor in any area a doctor may need help in, including a structured mentorship program for new graduates. If any doctor has a particular area of interest, the hospital will facilitate further learning in this area. The hospital’s LVTs see their own recheck appointments, meaning the doctors are freed up to see more complex appointments. The hospital is very well equipped with digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, a brand new ultrasound, therapeutic laser, surgical laser, endoscopy, TPLO equipment, inhouse labs and rehab equipment including an underwater treadmill.
