Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their team. This practice provides comprehensive care for dogs and cats, with opportunities to see exotics if desired, and has been serving Goleta and surrounding communities for more than 20 years.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 6 pm and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. The position can be full-time or part-time, with no after-hours or on-call requirements.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide care ranging from routine wellness to complex medical cases for dogs and cats, with the option to see avians, pocket pets, rabbits, reptiles, and ZooMED species. Clinical responsibilities include primary care services such as allergy and itchy skin relief, anesthesia, dental care, dental X-rays, dentistry, ear checks, euthanasia services, full diagnostics, general surgery, geriatric medicine, health certificates and exams, hospice care, hospitalization, in-house laboratory work, in-house pharmacy use, procedures within the in-office surgical suite, intensive care, internal medicine, isolation ward care, oxygen and transfusion therapy, pain management, radiology, routine surgeries, and spays and neuters. Advanced care services such as advanced dental care, digital radiology, EKG, feline hyperthyroidism treatment, OFA X-rays, soft tissue surgery, and Tonopen use are available but are not required. The role supports both experienced veterinarians and those early in their careers.

The hospital is AAHA accredited and features hands-free radiology, medical scribes, and a focus on flexible scheduling to support work–life balance. The facility includes an in-house laboratory, in-house pharmacy, intensive care capabilities, an isolation ward, and an in-office surgical suite. Services offered span advanced care options and comprehensive primary care, supported by a team trained in the latest procedures and medicine to ensure high-quality preventive and healing care.

Team
The hospital is staffed by 2 DVMs and 10 support staff within a supportive and collaborative working environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
