Job Description
Introduction
An AAHA-accredited, four-doctor small animal hospital in Glenwood Springs, Colorado is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join its collaborative and supportive team. With more than 30 years serving the Garfield County community, this hospital has been voted “Best Veterinarian” by Local’s Choice for over a decade, and is known for progressive, high-quality medicine and compassionate care.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm and is closed on weekends. Veterinarians enjoy a flexible schedule with no on-call responsibilities.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care while fostering strong client relationships through communication and education. The role emphasizes collaboration with colleagues and the support team to deliver comprehensive, compassionate patient care. New graduates are encouraged to apply and will receive a structured 12-month mentorship program.
Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostics and technology, including in-house IDEXX lab, SediVue, PT/PTT, ultrasound, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, and digital cytology with rapid turnaround. The surgical suite is outfitted with two surgical tables, anesthesia machines, suction, warming systems, and advanced monitoring tools. Orthopedic and advanced soft tissue surgeries are supported by visiting surgeons. The practice is fully paperless with IDEXX Neo Cloud software.
Team
The incoming veterinarian will join a team of four doctors supported by experienced certified veterinary technicians, with 1.5 to 2 technicians per doctor. The hospital maintains a collaborative and inclusive culture, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, professional growth, and supporting one another.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
