Introduction
Our client is a hospital looking to hire an Associate Veterinarian. Providing veterinary care for dogs and cats, this long-established full-service hospital has been serving the Glenside community and surrounding area since 1927. The practice offers the opportunity to join a large and experienced veterinary team within an established clinical environment focused on high-quality medicine and collaborative patient care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities, with the opportunity to manage a varied caseload and maintain meaningful ownership of cases from initial assessment through treatment and ongoing management. You’ll utilize the hospital’s extensive diagnostic and clinical capabilities to support your decision-making while working across medical and surgical cases. You’ll practice alongside a large and experienced veterinary team, providing opportunities for collaborative case discussion and shared clinical knowledge. The hospital’s broad capabilities also provide scope to develop individual areas of clinical interest while continuing to work across a comprehensive GP caseload. The position is suitable for both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with the established veterinary team providing a strong environment for continued clinical development.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of GP services alongside Urgent Care, acupuncture, physical rehabilitation, and therapeutic laser therapy. The practice is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, tonometry, in-house laboratory equipment, electrocardiography, and modern anesthetic monitoring equipment, supporting its varied medical and surgical caseload. A specialized treatment area is also available for hospitalized patients. Rau Animal Hospital is AAHA accredited and is also a Cat Friendly Practice. The hospital is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 9:30 PM, Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Team
You’ll be joining an established team of 9 veterinarians, supported by the hospital’s wider veterinary support team. The DVM team brings a diverse range of clinical interests and experience, creating a strong foundation for collaboration and shared case discussion. The team also includes a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist and Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner, adding further expertise to the hospital’s clinical offering. The depth of experience across the veterinary team provides a supportive environment for continued professional development while allowing clinicians to draw on the knowledge and experience of their colleagues when managing more involved cases.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
