Introduction
An AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its established team. The hospital provides comprehensive veterinary care for dogs and cats, combining preventive medicine with advanced diagnostics, surgery, dentistry and additional medical services. The position provides the opportunity to manage a varied small-animal General Practice caseload within a collaborative five-veterinarian environment, with continued education, professional development to support ongoing clinical growth.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities, including wellness and preventive care, diagnostic investigation, treatment planning, dentistry, surgery and ongoing medical management. The successful veterinarian will take responsibility for patient care from diagnosis through treatment, with the clinical autonomy to make appropriate medical decisions and maintain high standards of veterinary care. Responsibilities include developing long-term client relationships, clearly communicating diagnostic findings and treatment recommendations, and educating owners to support informed decisions regarding their pets’ health. The Associate Veterinarian will work collaboratively with the wider paraprofessional team, with continued education, professional development to support clinical progression and the management of more complex cases.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of GP services, alongside advanced medical care, Laser Therapy, Pain Management and advanced surgical and dental care. Equipment and clinical capabilities available include, but are not limited to, Digital Radiography, Ultrasound and Blood & Laboratory Testing, alongside modern anesthetic agents and advanced anesthetic monitoring equipment. The hospital is equipped to manage the majority of medical and surgical cases in-house, with veterinarians also having direct access to board-certified specialist consultation when additional expertise is required. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with the hospital closed on Sundays.

Team
The hospital currently has an established five-veterinarian team, including a Medical Director and four additional veterinarians, supported by an experienced paraprofessional and wider support team. The clinical environment places an emphasis on collaboration, with veterinarians able to draw on the experience of their colleagues when managing challenging cases.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
