Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring for an Associate Veterinarian. The practice operates across two community-based hospitals providing comprehensive veterinary care and is seeking a veterinarian to support continued growth across both locations. The hospitals see small animal patients with the opportunity for mixed animal exposure.

Working Hours / Rota
The Franklin location operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. The Atchafalaya location operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. This role is offered on a full-time basis, with the expectation that the veterinarian will split time between the two locations. There is potential flexibility to include Saturdays in the future if hospital hours expand.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for examining patients, diagnosing medical conditions, treating and dressing wounds, performing surgery, administering vaccinations, and operating diagnostic equipment such as radiography and ultrasound. The role includes prescribing medications, advising clients on medical care and treatment plans, and working closely with the medical director and support staff to deliver high-quality, personalized patient care. This position is open to veterinarians of all experience levels, including new graduates.

Practice Details
The hospitals have been serving their communities since 1980 and provide modern veterinary care rooted in strong family values. Facilities include a total of five exam rooms across both locations, a dental station, digital radiography, ultrasound, electrocautery, and comprehensive in-house diagnostic laboratories. Services offered include wellness care, dentistry, surgical services, diagnostics, urgent care, end-of-life care, pet boarding, microchipping, nutrition support, pharmacy services, and laboratory testing. The caseload includes small animal preventive care, internal medicine, dentistry, and general surgery, with opportunities for mixed animal practice. The culture emphasizes collaboration, open communication, and long-term client relationships.

Team
The Franklin hospital is staffed by two DVMs, while the Atchafalaya hospital has one DVM, supported by tenured and skilled support staff. The environment is collaborative and family-oriented, with a strong focus on teamwork, mentorship, and maintaining work-life balance.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
