Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring for a part-time Veterinarian within a small animal practice. This opportunity is ideal for a veterinarian seeking a flexible schedule with a focus on delivering high-quality medicine in a structured and collaborative setting.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinarian will manage a varied caseload including both wellness and urgent care cases, providing comprehensive care from initial consultation through diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities include conducting examinations, developing treatment plans, performing procedures such as surgery and dentistry where appropriate, and delivering clear client communication and education. The role benefits from strong pre-visit triage and a highly skilled nursing team, allowing the veterinarian to focus on clinical decision-making and patient care. The position offers a flexible 3–4 day workweek with 10–12 hour shifts and no overnight responsibilities, and is suited to veterinarians with at least some clinical experience, with mentorship available.
Practice Details
The hospital operates from 8:00am to 8:00pm, 365 days per year. The facility is designed to support efficient workflows with strong nursing support and a high nurse-to-doctor ratio. The practice provides both general practice and urgent care services, offering a balanced caseload across preventative care and more acute presentations. The clinical environment emphasizes preparation and efficiency through structured triage processes, alongside access to collaborative support and consultation when needed.
Team
The team includes a collaborative group of veterinarians supported by a highly skilled nursing team, with up to a 3:1 nurse-to-doctor ratio. The culture is supportive and team-oriented, with a strong focus on collaboration, communication, and enabling veterinarians to practice high-quality medicine with appropriate support.
