Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Hospital Veterinarian to join their full-service companion animal practice. This modern veterinary hospital provides comprehensive care for dogs and cats, delivering everything from routine wellness and preventive services to advanced imaging, dentistry, and surgery. The role is ideal for a veterinarian who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about practicing high-quality medicine while building strong client relationships.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 8:00am to 5:30pm, Thursday from 8:00am to 5:30pm, Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, and Saturday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. The clinic is closed on Sundays. This is a full or part-time position working within hospital operating hours.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Hospital Veterinarian will provide comprehensive patient care, including physical examinations, diagnosis and treatment of disease, and preventive medicine tailored to each patient’s lifestyle and needs. The role follows a problem-based medical approach, developing differential diagnoses, diagnostic plans, and treatment protocols based on clinical findings and test results. Responsibilities include performing routine and complex surgical procedures such as spays, neuters, abdominal exploratory surgeries, and mass removals, as well as routine and advanced dental procedures including full dental evaluations, radiograph interpretation, and simple and complex extractions. The veterinarian will develop hospitalization treatment plans, coordinate transitions to referral facilities when necessary, participate in shift rounds, document detailed medical records, and collaborate closely with colleagues and leadership to uphold established medical standards.

Practice Details
This full-service veterinary hospital is equipped with ultrasound in every hospital, digital radiography, dental radiography, heated hydraulic surgery tables, and a fully supported surgical and dental suite. Services include routine wellness care, vaccinations, flea, tick and heartworm prevention, illness and injury care, imaging, surgery, dentistry including cleanings and extractions, mass removal and biopsy, foreign body removal, spay and neuter procedures, and prescription medication services. The hospital emphasizes a high-quality standard of care, a problem-oriented medical approach, and a supportive environment that allows veterinarians to focus on thorough diagnostics and patient-centered treatment.

Team
The hospital operates within a collaborative team environment supported by paraprofessional staff and medical leadership. While this position does not have direct supervisory responsibility, the veterinarian serves as a clinical leader within the hospital, working collegially with fellow veterinarians and support staff to maintain high medical standards and deliver exceptional patient and client care.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
