Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a locally and family-owned veterinary hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their team, ideally on a full-time basis, although they are open to discussing different working arrangements. Providing care for cats and dogs, the hospital has been serving its community for around 50 years and has built a strong reputation for veterinary care. The hospital is part of a network of three locations, including a hybrid emergency hospital and a general practice location.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Associate Veterinarian, you will diagnose and treat patients, perform surgical and dental procedures, develop appropriate care plans, and provide client education. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients is an important part of the role, ensuring owners feel informed and involved throughout their pet’s care. Doctors work either an early shift from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm or a later shift from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Saturdays are worked every other week, with doctors then receiving a three-day weekend. The hospital is open to discussing scheduling preferences and seeing what works for both the incoming veterinarian and the team. The opportunity is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates. Mentorship can be provided for newer doctors, while more experienced clinicians will have opportunities for continued career and skill development.

Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with the hospital closed on Sundays. The practice is Fear Free Certified and provides full-service veterinary care including wellness, surgery, dentistry, and diagnostics, pain management, laser therapy and more. This is a great facility that is very well equipped, with in-house blood work, ultrasound, and radiology available to support doctors with diagnostics and patient care.

Team
The hospital has an established team of eight DVMs alongside a brilliant support team who play an integral role in the day-to-day running of the hospital and work collaboratively with the doctors to provide excellent patient care. Mental health and wellbeing are also a significant part of the hospital’s culture. The hospital is committed to ensuring every doctor has a platform to access mental health support, alongside creating a supportive working environment where the veterinary team can feel comfortable seeking help when they need it.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
