Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a mixed animal hospital that is hiring a Mixed Animal Veterinarian on either a full-time or part-time basis. Specializing in both emergency and general practice medicine, the clinic is the largest and busiest veterinary facility in Northeastern Nevada. Caring for equine, ranch, family livestock, companion animals, and exotic pets, this opportunity offers exposure to an exceptionally diverse caseload within a fast-paced environment where veterinarians can practice across multiple areas of veterinary medicine.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Mixed Animal Veterinarian will be responsible for providing the full scope of general practice services within both an emergency and GP environment. This role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of species while managing routine preventative care, medical cases, urgent care presentations, and emergency situations. The varied caseload provides excellent clinical diversity, allowing veterinarians to utilize a wide range of diagnostic, medical, and surgical skills on a daily basis. Specific hours are to be discussed. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian who enjoys the challenges and rewards of mixed animal practice and is comfortable working within a hospital that manages both scheduled appointments and a significant volume of urgent and emergency cases.
Practice Details
As the largest and busiest clinic in Northeastern Nevada, the hospital provides a full scope of ER and GP services alongside Urgent Care, creating a dynamic and clinically diverse caseload. The practice is particularly known for its heavy urgent care and emergency caseload, offering veterinarians the opportunity to work on a wide variety of routine, complex, and critical cases. The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment technology, including but not limited to digital radiology, in-house diagnostic laboratory services, ultrasound, MRI and CT imaging, and digital dental radiography. These resources support comprehensive diagnostics and advanced patient care across multiple species. Facilities include over 6,000 square feet of indoor clinical space and an In-House Pharmacy, providing the infrastructure needed to efficiently manage both outpatient and emergency cases. In addition to general and emergency veterinary services, the practice offers electrocardiography, video-otoscopy, laser therapy, regenerative medicine, orthopedic surgery including TTA, TPLO, interlocking nail, external fixation, toggle pin, and plate and screw fracture repair, endoscopy, radio cautery surgery, glaucoma testing, and dentistry. The hospital also provides boarding and daycare services as well as behavioural counselling, allowing it to support a broad range of client and patient needs. The clinic operates Monday through Sunday, with emergency services available until 10:00pm each day, ensuring extensive access to veterinary care throughout the region.
Team
The hospital consists of six highly skilled and compassionate DVMs supported by multiple technicians and assistants working within a collaborative clinical environment. The culture encourages mentorship, innovation, teamwork, and open communication, allowing veterinarians to learn from experienced colleagues while continuing to develop their own clinical and leadership expertise. This supportive environment is designed to foster long-term professional growth while maintaining the highest standards of veterinary medicine and patient care.
