Introduction
Our client is a full-service small animal hospital in Elk Grove seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian to join their dedicated team. Since 2016, the practice has been committed to providing high-quality, compassionate veterinary care for dogs and cats in Elk Grove and the surrounding communities, building a reputation for professional and trusted service in a warm and welcoming environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, Tuesday and Wednesday until 6:00 pm, Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and weekends from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. The Associate Veterinarian role is full-time within these hours, including shared weekend coverage, with no after-hours responsibilities required.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide a full spectrum of veterinary care, including preventive wellness exams, internal medicine, dentistry, geriatric support, and emergency care. Surgical responsibilities include soft tissue procedures, spaying and neutering, C-sections, ocular surgery, mass removals, foreign body retrieval, and pyometra treatment. The role also offers the opportunity to collaborate with a traveling specialist surgeon for advanced orthopedic and complex soft tissue surgeries. This position is ideal for an experienced veterinarian dedicated to delivering progressive medical care and building lasting relationships with clients.

Practice Details
This hospital offers a wide range of veterinary services, including preventive care, internal medicine, dentistry, surgery, and emergency treatment. Advanced diagnostic capabilities are available in-house, including digital radiography, bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal exams, progesterone testing, pre-breeding cultures, and digital dental X-rays. The facility is fully equipped to support efficient diagnosis and effective treatment planning, with access to specialist surgical support for complex orthopedic and advanced procedures.

The practice is home to 2 DVMs supported by a skilled and compassionate team of veterinary technicians and support staff. The environment is collaborative and patient-focused, ensuring both high-quality medical care and an exceptional client experience.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
