Job Description
Introduction
A modern small animal hospital serving the growing Eagle Mountain, Utah community is looking to hire a full-time Associate Veterinarian. Providing care for dogs and cats, the practice has built a strong local reputation and currently holds a 4.9-star Google rating. There’s a really personal feel to the way the hospital approaches veterinary medicine, with an emphasis on building lasting relationships with clients while giving its veterinarians the freedom and resources to provide a high standard of care.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to take ownership of your patients from diagnosis through to treatment and ongoing case management. You’ll have plenty of freedom to use your own clinical judgement when working through cases, while having a supportive wider team around you to help keep things running smoothly. Client communication is also an important part of the role, with the hospital looking for someone who enjoys building genuine relationships with owners and helping them understand the options available for their pets. There’s a strong emphasis on collaboration and continued development, while access to board-certified specialists within the wider clinical network gives you another perspective to draw on when a more involved case would benefit from additional input.
Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of GP services, with the team able to manage the majority of its patients’ medical and surgical needs within the practice. Equipment and clinical capabilities available include, but are not limited to, Digital Radiography, Ultrasound, Tonometry, an In-House Laboratory, modern anesthetic monitoring equipment and state-of-the-art surgical equipment, giving you a good range of resources for working through cases in-house. The surgical service extends from routine procedures through to more advanced soft tissue and Laser Surgery, while direct collaboration with board-certified specialists provides additional clinical support when needed. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
Team
You’ll currently be joining a 1-DVM team, working alongside an established group of Veterinary Assistants and a Practice Manager. Being a smaller hospital gives this opportunity a particularly close-knit feel, with everyone working together and playing an important part in the day-to-day running of the practice. The role itself places a real emphasis on collaborating with the paraprofessional team and contributing positively to the hospital culture, while the wider clinical network gives you additional veterinarians and specialists to lean on when you want to bounce ideas around or get another perspective on a case.
