Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a full-service, AAHA-accredited small animal hospital based in Durham, NC. With over 25 years of service, they are seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their progressive, multi-doctor team in providing comprehensive veterinary care.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:30pm and is closed on weekends. This is a full-time weekday-only position, offering excellent work-life balance with no weekend shifts or after-hours requirements.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for delivering high-quality care including physical examinations, diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry, while also building strong client relationships through communication and education. The role emphasizes preventive medicine, patient wellness, and advanced dentistry, with the opportunity to work alongside a board-certified dental specialist on-site. Candidates should be experienced veterinarians with strong clinical skills and a collaborative mindset.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with modern facilities and offers a full range of services including wellness and prevention, diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, pain management, and laser therapy. The hospital culture is collaborative, progressive, and supportive, with a strong emphasis on mentorship, teamwork, and client education.

Team
You will be joining a team of three experienced DVMs supported by a highly skilled group of support staff. The environment is professional yet welcoming, with a focus on collaboration, personal growth, and maintaining a high standard of care.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
