Introduction
Our client is a well-established small animal hospital located in Dothan, Alabama, seeking a part-time Associate Veterinarian to join their long-standing and community-trusted team. As the oldest continuously operating animal hospital in Dothan, this practice has been delivering exceptional veterinary care since 1943 while continuously evolving with modern medicine and technology. The hospital provides comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental services for dogs, cats, and select exotics, making it an excellent opportunity for veterinarians at any experience level who value teamwork, variety, and community connection.

Working Hours / Rota
This part-time position offers a flexible schedule of 1–3 days per week with no weekend shifts, ensuring excellent work-life balance. The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The clinic is closed on Saturdays, with Sunday hours reserved solely for boarding pick-up.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will manage a varied caseload encompassing wellness and preventive care, internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, and emergency cases. The role involves serving patients and clients through a relationship-based approach, engaging with the clinical team, and supporting the growth of support staff through internal training programs. This position is suitable for veterinarians of all experience levels, including recent graduates seeking mentorship and hands-on experience across diverse case types such as orthopedic, soft tissue, and cosmetic surgeries.

Practice Details
The hospital blends deep community roots with modern veterinary medicine. Facilities include a dedicated surgical suite, digital radiography, in-house IDEXX laboratory, cold/therapy laser, and the Cornerstone practice management platform. The practice provides a broad range of services including wellness care, dentistry, internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, radiology, surgery, and pharmacy support, as well as boarding, bathing, and grooming.

Team
The hospital team includes three DVMs supported by a brilliant and experienced group of support staff. The environment is close-knit, collaborative, and community-oriented, fostering strong relationships both within the team and with clients. The leadership encourages professional growth and supports team members in their continued learning and development.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
