Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital looking to hire a full-time Associate Veterinarian. Providing veterinary care for dogs and cats, this established full-service hospital offers the opportunity to work within a progressive clinical environment with a broad caseload and access to advanced care capabilities. The practice combines comprehensive primary care with additional advanced services, providing an environment centered around high-quality medicine, collaboration, and continued professional development.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities, providing the opportunity to manage a varied medical and surgical caseload with meaningful autonomy over clinical decision-making, diagnostics, treatment planning, and ongoing case management. You’ll work within an established hospital environment with access to a broad range of diagnostic and clinical resources, allowing you to maintain continuity and ownership across your cases. You’ll work collaboratively with the wider veterinary and support team, with opportunities for case discussion and shared clinical expertise. The hospital also provides access to real-time consultation with board-certified specialists when additional expertise would benefit a case, supporting the management of more complex presentations while allowing veterinarians to remain closely involved in their patients’ care. The position is suitable for both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with the established clinical team providing a supportive environment for continued development.
Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of GP services alongside Urgent Care, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, and behavioral therapy. The veterinary team also has access to direct consultation with board-certified specialists, providing additional clinical expertise for more complex cases. The practice is equipped with Digital Radiography, Ultrasound, an In-House Laboratory, modern anesthetic monitoring equipment, and state-of-the-art surgical equipment. A specialized treatment area is also available to support hospitalized patients. The hospital is AAHA accredited. Opening hours are Monday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The hospital is closed on Sundays.
Team
You’ll be joining an established team of 4 veterinarians, supported by a substantial veterinary technician and client service team. The support team includes Licensed Veterinary Technicians alongside experienced veterinary support professionals, providing strong clinical support for the DVM team. The hospital fosters a collaborative approach to medicine, with veterinarians able to draw on the experience of their colleagues as well as consultation with board-certified specialists. This combination of an established DVM team, experienced technical support, and access to additional clinical expertise creates a supportive environment for delivering high-quality medicine while continuing to develop professionally.
