Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a practice providing veterinary care for dogs and cats in Destin, Florida. They are seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their AAHA-accredited small animal practice on a part-time basis. The practice focuses on compassionate, evidence-based medicine and maintains strong relationships with its local community.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive patient care from diagnosis through treatment, including wellness and preventive medicine, testing and diagnostics, advanced care, and surgical procedures such as anesthesia, spays and neuters, soft tissue surgery, mass removals, dental surgery, vulvoplasty, and cystotomy. The role also involves developing long-term relationships with clients, clearly communicating clinical findings and treatment plans, and collaborating with the wider veterinary team. The position is budgeted at 20 hours per week, with the exact schedule to be discussed with the practice. Both experienced veterinarians and new graduates will be considered.

Practice Details
The practice is AAHA-accredited and provides wellness and preventive care, testing and diagnostics, advanced care, and surgical procedures. Clinicians have access to internal specialty consultations to support diagnostics and treatment planning for challenging cases, alongside continuing education and professional development resources. The practice has a 4.7-star Google rating and emphasizes high-quality, contemporary veterinary medicine. Opening hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the practice closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Team
The practice has three DVMs and a great tenured support team. The environment emphasizes collaboration, professional development, and teamwork, with veterinarians working alongside a supportive paraprofessional team.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
