Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a privately owned hospital providing veterinary care for cats and dogs, with occasional small mammal cases, and is looking to hire an Associate Veterinarian on either a full-time or part-time basis. Proudly privately owned, the hospital takes the time to get to know its clients and their animals.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for the full scope of general practice responsibilities. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates. Full-time doctors work four weekdays plus one Saturday per month, while part-time schedules are available from two days per week.
Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of general practice services, including wellness and preventative care, internal medicine, soft-tissue surgery, and dentistry. Appointments are scheduled for 15 minutes for rechecks, 30 minutes for wellness visits and straightforward sick cases, and 45–60 minutes for more involved cases. The hospital is open from 7:30am–5:30pm Monday through Friday, closing for lunch from 1–2pm, and from 8am–12pm on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. Equipment includes otoscopes, in-house IDEXX laboratory equipment, ultrasound, a surgical laser, cold therapy laser, digital X-ray, digital dental X-ray, and Cornerstone EMR. The facility has three exam rooms, a separate surgical suite, and a hydraulic wet table for dental procedures. The staff is FearFree certified, and the hospital will help incoming doctors obtain FearFree certification.
Team
The team includes two DVMs, with each doctor assigned a technician and an assistant.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
