Job Description

Introduction
This brand-new small animal hospital in Denver, Colorado is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its founding doctor in spring or summer 2027 as the practice continues to grow. Opened in 2026, the hospital combines general practice with same-day and urgent care, surgery and diagnostics, providing broad clinical exposure within a modern environment. The founding veterinarian brings more than 12 years of experience across general practice, emergency, urgent care, surgery, leadership and exotic medicine, with a strong focus on hands-on mentorship and collaborative case management.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am to 3:00pm, with Wednesdays and Sundays closed. The position is full-time, with the hospital’s schedule designed to provide consistent time away from work while supporting scheduled, same-day and urgent care appointments.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Associate Veterinarian, you’ll provide preventative and wellness care alongside diagnostics, dentistry, routine soft tissue surgery and medical case management for dogs and cats. You’ll also evaluate same-day and urgent presentations, developing your triage and stabilisation skills while managing cases from initial assessment through treatment and follow-up. There are opportunities to gain experience with select exotic and pocket-pet species, although an interest in exotics is a plus rather than a requirement. You’ll work directly alongside the founding veterinarian, with mentorship tailored around your experience and interests across general practice, surgery, dentistry and urgent care.

Practice Details
The hospital is a newly established, full-service companion animal practice equipped to provide wellness and preventative medicine, in-house testing and diagnostics, surgery, advanced care and urgent appointments. The team currently includes one founding veterinarian, giving the incoming doctor the opportunity to join during an early stage of the hospital’s development while benefiting from direct clinical mentorship. The practice emphasises personalised care, same-day availability, collaborative medicine and creating an environment where veterinarians can ask questions, develop their skills and gradually build confidence across a broad caseload.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
