Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a privately owned hospital that primarily treats cats and dogs, with some pocket pets and exotics seen at the doctor’s discretion. They are seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian to join their well-established team.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position offering a 4-day workweek with two Saturday shifts per month. Weekdays typically include approximately 10 scheduled cases per day, with additional time reserved for emergency or sick cases. Appointments are 30 minutes for standard visits and 15 minutes for rechecks. The hospital’s opening hours are Monday and Thursday from 7:30 am to 8 pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:30 am to 6 pm, Saturday from 8 am to 2 pm, and closed on Sunday.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This is a full-service GP role with responsibilities including wellness care, internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, and emergency cases as they arise. The position is suited for experienced veterinarians only.

Practice Details
The hospital has been serving its community for over 50 years and continues to grow, averaging 50–60 new clients per month and seeing approximately 40 clients daily. It is a trusted and well-known practice in the area. The hospital utilizes Impromed PIMS, has X-ray capabilities, an in-house ultrasound system with outsourced imaging services, and works with both Idexx and Antech laboratories. There are four exam rooms within the facility, and they offer both full-service general practice and walk-in emergency care.

Team
The team consists of two full-time DVMs supported by 24 staff members in total.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
