Introduction
Our client is a well-established small animal hospital that has proudly served the community since 1991. They are currently seeking a Medical Director to lead their clinical team. The practice provides comprehensive care to cats and dogs, offering a varied and engaging caseload within a structured and supportive environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinarian looking to step into a leadership role while continuing to practice high-quality medicine.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The hospital is open from 8:00am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday, with Saturday hours from 8:00am to 1:00pm. The Medical Director will work within these opening hours, with weekend coverage limited to the Saturday rota. No additional after-hours requirements have been specified.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, you will oversee clinical standards while actively participating in patient care. The caseload ranges from routine wellness and preventative medicine to complex surgical procedures and urgent care cases. The role encompasses advanced testing and diagnostics, as well as delivering a full spectrum of medical and surgical services. You will work within an established and structured environment that supports both routine procedures and emergent situations. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian with a minimum of two years of practical clinical experience who is confident managing a varied caseload and leading a team.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with modern diagnostic tools, including ultrasound and radiology, supporting advanced testing and comprehensive patient care. Services include wellness and preventative medicine, in-house laboratory diagnostics, cardiology, ophthalmology, pain management, acupuncture, behavioural consultations, soft tissue surgery, and routine spay and neuter procedures. The practice infrastructure is designed to handle both routine and advanced cases, allowing for a broad and interesting scope of medicine.

Team
The hospital currently has one DVM supported by a fantastic and dedicated team of support staff. The environment is collaborative and well-structured, providing strong operational support while the Medical Director leads clinical excellence and helps shape the future growth of the practice.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
