Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their veterinary team providing care for dogs and cats, with the occasional chicken or duck. The hospital is a full-service small animal practice serving the Columbia, South Carolina community and focuses on delivering compassionate, high-quality veterinary care in a supportive team environment. This opportunity is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with structured mentorship available for those early in their careers.

Working Hours / Rota
The role offers full-time or part-time flexibility. Hospital hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the hospital closed on Saturdays and Sundays. The schedule includes a 4-day work week, a 2-hour lunch block, and the last appointment scheduled at 4:20 PM.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive veterinary care including medical, surgical, and dental services. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating illnesses, performing procedures such as spays, neuters, and general surgery, conducting wellness exams, and communicating clearly with clients regarding treatment and preventative care. The role also involves collaborating with the veterinary and support team to maintain high standards of patient care while supporting lifelong wellness through preventative medicine and diagnostics. This position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.

Practice Details
The hospital is a full-service veterinary facility providing a wide range of services designed to support companion animals throughout their lives. Equipment includes a brand new ultrasound and in-house laboratory equipment, as well as digital radiology. Services offered include comprehensive blood work, cryotherapy, dental care and dental surgery, hospitalization, illness care, wellness and preventive medicine, microchip identification, nutritional counseling, parasite prevention, pharmacy services, spaying and neutering, surgery, vaccinations, veterinary specialty referrals, weekday drop-off services, boarding, artificial insemination, international health certificates, and extracapsular repair of cranial cruciate injuries.

Team
The hospital has 2 DVMs and a great tenured support team, creating a collaborative environment with strong clinical support and mentorship.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
