Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their dedicated team in Columbia, South Carolina. This small animal practice provides comprehensive care for cats and dogs, with a strong focus on wellness, preventative medicine, diagnostics, and surgery. The clinic has a long-standing reputation for delivering compassionate care to pets and supporting the families who love them.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The office closes daily between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm for lunch. This is a full-time position, offering a healthy work-life balance. No after-hours requirements are specified.

Role Description and Responsibilities
Clinical responsibilities include wellness and sick exams, vaccinations, spay and neuter procedures, dentistry, surgery, in-house diagnostics, advanced imaging, ultrasound, and laser therapy. Additional services include weight management, nutrition support, and senior pet care. The role is best suited for an experienced veterinarian with leadership aspirations, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach to veterinary medicine.

Practice Details
The hospital is a full-service, modern facility equipped with in-house laboratory diagnostics, ultrasound, digital radiology, and advanced imaging capabilities. Services offered include preventative care, surgery, dentistry, microchip implantation, puppy and kitten care, senior pet support, weight management, nutrition counseling, and laser therapy. The practice is well-known in the community, having been voted a Best Veterinarian Practice locally multiple times. Team
The practice is staffed by a dedicated team of six DVMs supported by a highly skilled and professional support staff. The environment is collaborative, positive, and mentoring-focused, fostering both professional growth and exceptional patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
