Introduction
Our client is a veterinary practice serving dogs and cats across the greater Richmond area and is seeking a part-time Associate Veterinarian to join its team. Established in 2011, the practice provides high-quality, personalized veterinary care to a loyal and diverse clientele, offering the opportunity to practice a wide range of medicine while developing meaningful relationships with clients and patients. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide high-quality, evidence-based medicine across a varied caseload, including preventive and wellness care, examinations for pets at different life stages, same-day appointments, urgent care, dentistry, diagnostics, chronic disease management, pain management, and surgical care. Surgical responsibilities include routine spays and neuters and general soft-tissue procedures, with the veterinarian expected to have experience or confidence in surgery. The role also involves communicating effectively with clients, collaborating with teammates, and supporting patients throughout their care, including pre-operative preparation, surgery, postoperative communication, and follow-up appointments where required. The position offers a flexible schedule designed to support meaningful work-life balance and is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.

Practice Details
The practice provides preventive care, advanced medical care, dentistry, surgery, diagnostics, and urgent care within a warm and inviting environment. Services include routine wellness examinations, same-day appointments, a Preventative Health Program, pain management, chronic disease management, hospice care, euthanasia, routine dental cleanings, spay and neuter procedures, general soft-tissue surgery, and urgent care for non-life-threatening concerns. In-hospital diagnostic capabilities include an in-house laboratory for pre-anesthetic bloodwork, comprehensive screenings, and urinalysis, alongside radiology and ultrasound services. Surgical patients receive close monitoring of their vital signs and comfort, with multiple veterinary team members supporting procedures and communication with owners throughout the surgical process. The practice is open Monday and Tuesday from 8:00am–6:00pm, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00am–7:00pm, Friday from 9:00am–7:00pm, Saturday from 9:00am–4:00pm, and is closed on Sunday.

The practice currently has 2 DVMs alongside a great tenured support team. The environment is collaborative and supportive, with an emphasis on strong relationships, effective communication, teamwork, and providing high-quality patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
