Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a privately owned small animal veterinary hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its team. The hospital primarily provides care for companion animals, with opportunities to see exotic species and pocket pets for veterinarians with an interest in these areas. The practice takes a holistic, integrative approach to veterinary medicine, combining conventional treatments with complementary therapies to support patient health and wellbeing.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive veterinary care, including preventative medicine, wellness examinations, internal medicine, surgery, dentistry and ongoing management of medical conditions. Responsibilities include conducting physical examinations, administering vaccinations, providing parasite prevention, performing dental screenings, assessing behavioural and nutritional needs, and developing individualised treatment plans in partnership with clients. Both experienced veterinarians and new graduates are encouraged to apply, with mentorship available for those beginning their veterinary careers.

Practice Details
The hospital combines traditional veterinary medicine with complementary therapies, including acupuncture, herbal medicine, food therapy and laser therapy. Equipment includes ultrasound, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, laser therapy equipment and Heska and IDEXX in-house laboratory systems. Facilities include two canine examination rooms, one feline examination room and hospitalisation capabilities. Additional services include puppy and kitten wellness programmes, adult and senior preventative care, in-home hospice and euthanasia services, and international health certificates. The practice focuses on preventative healthcare, treating the whole animal and involving clients in decisions about their pets’ care. The hospital operates Monday and Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and every other Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with Wednesdays closed.

Team
The hospital currently has one DVM supported by three veterinary support staff members. The practice welcomes both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with mentorship available for those seeking guidance and professional development.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
