Job Description

Introduction
A well-established small animal hospital in Clackamas, Oregon is seeking a Part-Time Associate Veterinarian to join its collaborative and community-focused team. Located just outside Portland, this long-standing practice has built a loyal client base through consistent, high-quality care and strong client education. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who values teamwork, continuity of care, and practicing thoughtful, relationship-driven medicine.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a part-time position within a Monday through Friday schedule. Hospital hours are Monday to Thursday from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm and Friday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. The clinic is closed on weekends, supporting a balanced and predictable work routine.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive wellness, medical, and surgical care to small animal patients. Responsibilities include performing examinations, developing diagnostic and treatment plans, carrying out routine surgical procedures, and maintaining clear, accurate medical records. The role also emphasizes building lasting relationships with clients through effective communication and education, ensuring continuity of care and trust within the community.

This is a full-service small animal practice with a strong local presence and a reputation for compassionate, client-centered care. The hospital is well-equipped with modern diagnostic and treatment capabilities, allowing for efficient case management across preventive medicine, internal medicine, and routine surgery. The team prioritizes collaboration, clear communication, and a respectful, supportive workplace culture.

Team
You will work alongside two veterinarians supported by an experienced and friendly support staff. The environment is team-oriented, with a shared focus on patient advocacy, collaboration, and maintaining a positive hospital atmosphere.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
