Job Description

Introduction
Our client is an AAHA-accredited small animal veterinary hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its established team. The hospital provides comprehensive veterinary care, combining preventative medicine with advanced diagnostics, surgery and urgent care services. The practice follows Fear Free principles and places a strong emphasis on compassionate patient care, client communication and creating a positive, collaborative working environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive small animal care, including wellness examinations, vaccinations, dentistry, allergy management, diagnostics, surgery and urgent or emergency care. Surgical responsibilities may include routine spays and neuters, soft tissue procedures such as cystotomies, splenectomies, pyometra surgery and tumour removals, alongside routine and surgical dental extractions. The role involves performing thorough examinations, developing individualised treatment plans and communicating with clients to support informed decisions about their pets’ care.

Practice Details
The hospital is AAHA accredited and incorporates Fear Free care principles into its approach to veterinary medicine. The practice offers a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services, supported by advanced diagnostic equipment including digital X-ray, ultrasound and an in-house laboratory. Diagnostic capabilities include complete blood counts, blood chemistry, liver and kidney testing, urinalysis, faecal examinations, heartworm testing and tick-borne disease screening. Additional services include end-of-life care and urgent and emergency treatment. The hospital operates Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Team
The hospital has two DVMs supported by a veterinary support team. Team members are encouraged to share knowledge, support one another and work together to deliver high standards of patient care while maintaining strong relationships with clients.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
